CHP Neighborhood Health Center - Pittsfield

The CHP Neighborhood Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, is a comprehensive medical practice providing primary medical care in Berkshire County that is accessible to all people, regardless of insurance status, immigrant status, or ability to pay. We provide preventive, acute, and ongoing medical care for infants, children, adults and elders, and we provide full, 24-hour medical coverage for our patients, 365 days a year.

CHP Neighborhood Health Center Medical Doctors


Members of our Provider Team of physicians and nurse practitioners are certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Family Practice. Each patient chooses one of these providers to be their Primary Care Provider, and the entire staff is available to meet the many health care needs of patients:
  • Evaluation and Treatment
  • Ongoing care for medical problems
  • Comprehensive care for chronic conditions
  • Referrals for specialty care and mental health care
  • patient and parent education
  • Same day sick visits
  • After-hours coverage by a local physician
  • Well baby care
  • Adolescent health care
  • Gynecological care/family planning
  • Immunizations
  • Nutrition and wellness counseling
Additional On-site Services
The CHP Neighborhood Health Center also provides other important services including enrollment assistance for insurance plans, interpreter and translation services, affordable prescription programs, and flexible appointment scheduling.

The CHP Neighborhood Health Center accepts more than 100 different health insurance plans, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Health New England, Tufts, Aetna, Cigna and CDPHP. We also accept Mass Health, BMC HealthNet and Medicare. We are able to provide reduced-price care for those who qualify.

CHP Neighborhood Health Center Residency Program
The CHP Neighborhood Health Center benefits from a long-term relationship with Berkshire Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Resident Practice, accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Under the direction of David Albert, residents in the 3-year program provide continuing care at the CHP Neighborhood Health Center.

The CHP Neighborhood Health Center is partially funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, the MA Department of Public Health, the MA Executive Office of Health and Human Services, the MA League of Community Health Centers, Elder Services of Berkshire County, and other grants and donations.

CHP Neighborhood Health Center Additional Services
Patient Assistance, Referrals and Translation Services
Our Patient Assistance Coordinators work with patients to apply for state and federal medical plans, as well as process referrals for insurance coverage.

These Coordinators also provide Spanish medical interpreting for medical visits, as well as assistance with communications concerning referrals and insurance. For non-English speaking patients who do not speak Spanish, we use a telephone interpreter service to assure effective communication. .

Prescription Assistance
Our Prescription Assistance Coordinator assists with applications to pharmaceutical companies for patients without prescription coverage. These companies provide medicine to eligible people for free or reduced cost on an ongoing basis.
